Get Clever

There's plenty of information online about how to grow almost anything. But for beginner gardeners, or gardeners who have recently moved to a new gardening climate, it's so hard to determine what information applies to their garden. It's overwhelming. 

 

It was hard for me too, when I moved to Austin over 15 years ago. The soil, the heat, the lack of rain - I had to adjust. Every year I learned more about what worked and what didn't. I joined a community garden, and I gardened in my own back yard.  

 

I now have a raised bed in my front yard that I call the conversation garden. It is so close to the sidewalk, and it has sparked so many conversations with neighbors and passers by who have questions or comments. Those conversations prompted this project.

I've started documenting what is happening in that little raised bed as a way to share what I know, and offering individual service to folks in the Austin area.
